Kai is one of the main characters in Fairy Foxes. He's from Goji Forest, a foreign region to where the story is set, and as such speaks with an accent. When upset or excited, Kai will sometimes revert entirely to Goji Forest dialect, making him incredibly difficult to understand at times. While currently identifying as a rebel and serving as Mark's right-hand fox, he was once a high-ranking cooperate and still does questionable acts of duty for their army, mainly at the instigation of his half-brother, Andre, who he greatly looks up to.
Due to his training as a cooperate, Kai can withstand most forms of pain, heal from injuries most would die from, and has an immunity to several poisons. He views emotion as a weakness in himself and therefore does not express it, although he is not incapable of doing so as many misconstrue. Because of his survival abilities, he will often take hits or punishments for those he cares about.
While he answers to Mark on a military level, Kai mentors and disciplines both him and Louie much like an older brother. Mark will, however, mentor and discipline him as a friend when things are tough. Kai maintains peace and order where there probably wouldn't be any otherwise, and usually acts as a mediator between the opposing armies.
His hobbies and interests include reading, writing, and farming. He will usually be found with a book at any spare moment. Kai memorizes all the information in books he reads, but does not mind reading them again several times over.
The skills he picked up during his time as a cooperate make Kai a fighting force to be reckoned with, although he is significantly weaker now than he was then due to an unresolved problem with anorexia. Food brings back painful memories, and he will usually refuse it.
